Court News UK
A new easy to manage website for the UK’s leading news site direct from the UK’s courts.
The Old Bailey is the highest court in the country and Court News UK are the “on the spot” news team to immediately report on all the court stories as they happen.
Tigerfish was tasked with giving this high traffic site a complete overhaul in terms of design, responsive, whilst providing an easy to use CMS system for the journalists, so the site can be updated on a minute by minute.
The site is a high profile news site which had an old cumbersome CMS at its heart. The CMS had been developed on a bespoke platform in a piecemeal way, which lead to a complex, non user friendly system which was causing frustration.
Tigerfish redesigned the website and built the site on standardised open source software, making it easy to update for the editors and admin staff. Tigerfish also had to build a bespoke data migration tool to import all the existing content from the original site.
SEO is also a big part of Court News and Tigerfish worked closely with Court News to target keywords and reduce the amount of 404 errors that were appearing on the old site.
Training on the new site for the Court News team was essential. Tigerfish provided on-site training with the client’s team, bespoke video tutorials for key elements of the site and produced documentation.
Open Source CMS
Tigerfish moved Court News from an old custom build CMS to the world number 1 open source CMS.
Tigerfish worked closely with Court News to make sure they were reaching their audience through all social network channels.
Tigerfish gave a fresh look to Court News which would also be responsive.
