At Tigerfish we love WordPress and in recent months most of our projects have been WordPress based projects. This week we would like to share with your our top 5 WordPress plugins, These plugins are installed on nearly every WordPress site we develop.

This plugin is installed on all our WordPress sites. This plugin comes with the default installation of WordPress and we would highly recommend signing up for a free API key. This plugin will help protect you against spam which if you have a very popular site can become a real problem.

This plugin in a database optimisation plugin, It keeps your database clean which helps keep the speed of your site fast. It is very easy to install and can be configured to run every week so you can set and forget about it.

3. BackWPup
This plugin is used to back up your WordPress files and Database base to a location of your choice either another FTP server or a cloud back up service like Amazon S3, Dropbox or Microsoft Azue.

2. Wordfence Security
The Wordfence security plugin provides free enterprise-class WordPress security, protecting your website from hacks and malware. This plugin monitors your files and will email you if it detects anything has changed that it should not have.

This plugin Improves your WordPress SEO by allowing you to change the title and the description of each page. It lets you pick a keyword that you want to target for that page, It will then monitor that page for that keyword and give you a Green, Amber or Red light based on how many times that keyword is matched. This is one of the first plugins that get installed on all of our WordPress websites.
